The TrustTech Cohort
A free, 6-month technical mentorship program for Grenadian students who want to build real skill — not a shortcut, not a certificate mill. We teach in public, build in public, and let the work speak for itself.
Why We Do This
Not charity. Not a side project. A choice about how to spend the time we have.
The Cohort pushes us to teach, to educate, to keep learning ourselves, and to give back — in public, where people can actually see it happening. That's the whole point. We don't ask schools or institutions for access or permission to prove what we're capable of. We just do the work, out loud, and let people see it for themselves.
That's a different kind of proof than a pitch deck. It's harder to fake and easier to trust.
AI Doesn't Replace the Foundation — It Raises the Bar For It
Yes, AI is here. Yes, there are really good AI coding tools now. But what good is a good coder if there's no structure, no foundation, no discipline behind how that tool gets used? A fast tool in untrained hands just means bad code ships faster. We've all seen what that looks like a few years later — go look at old sites built in a hurry, and you'll find the security holes that came from skipping the fundamentals, not from the tools being bad.
We're not anti-AI. We think the opposite: this is life now, and if you want a real skill in this world, this is how you build one. You still learn the basics. You still learn by building. AI changes how fast you can build — it doesn't change the fact that you have to actually understand what you're building, or the structure falls apart the moment something breaks.
A mechanic learns on a car
You don't learn to fix engines by reading about engines. You learn by getting under the hood, getting your hands dirty, and doing it again when the first attempt doesn't work.
A basketball player learns on a court
Nobody becomes a point guard by watching film alone. You learn the game by playing it, missing shots, and playing again.
A developer learns by building
Same principle. You learn to code by building real things, hitting real problems, and fixing them — not by skipping straight to a finished answer.
No one controls you here. No one holds your hand. You need the drive to go after what you want — knowledge is free, it's already out there. The real question is what value you're going to bring to the world. That's what the Cohort is built to develop: not just syntax, but the judgment to build things that hold up.
What the Cohort Actually Is
Six months. Real tools. Real capstone work.
Learn the system before the shortcuts
We teach web development and software fundamentals the way we were taught — understand how the pieces actually work before leaning on AI to move faster. Interactive labs, real examples, no jargon for its own sake.
Tied to a real capstone
Capstone work is connected to Grenada's own digitalization push — real institutional problems, not a toy project nobody will ever use.
